Pictures! 8-12 Weeks

We haven't posted pictures for quite awhile so here are some of my favorites from age 8 weeks-12 weeks. Sifting through them all, I realize just how many pictures we take of him! He's just so cute though, I can't help myself!

This is a picture of him talking. He's really been "talking" a lot! It's sooooo cute! I have some cute footage I'll post as soon I figure out how! :)

He is usually so cute and happy when we change his diaper.

We attempted to take some family pictures a couple weeks ago. It didn't turn out so well as you can see. We got a couple pictures out of it...the one above and the one on our profile. For putting the camera on a timer and trying to make him look forward instead of at us or the dog, I think we did pretty well.

I just had to post this one because of that lip! Oh my gosh...I kind of like it when he's sad just so I can see that face....but just kind of because that means some crying will follow.

I love to see the smiles even more then the pouty lips!

Regarding his mouth, he likes to eat with it and munch his hand with it. So much, in fact, that his nickname right now is Captain Munch....

However, today he found a third thing he likes to shove in his mouth. This was the first time he grabbed a toy and put it in his mouth. He did it over and over. It was really great to catch something he did for the first time on the camera! I know it seems silly but I was so proud at how well his motor skills are progressing.

Story Time-Vacation

I love to hear stories so I thought I'd make a habit of story time on our blog every once in a while. So here it goes... a couple stories taking place on vacations that we've been on. Story #1 A little back ground first...Brad went on his mission to Paris France and when we got married we decided we really wanted to go back before we had kids. Anyway.... one day we were in a food market buying cheese and pâté for our lunch that day. The cheese was displayed in a huge circular refrigerator, like what we have here but 4 times the size. So there we were, both engrossed at the task at hand, when all of a sudden I get hit from behind. I look back and there is this old French lady, in her late 50's or early 60's, armed with a shopping cart looking at the cheese display. I quickly said sorry and moved out of the way. You could have sworn I was invisible because she didn't even acknowledge my existence. I was shocked at her lack of concern for my now bruised calf’s and couldn't help but watch her. Not a minute later she was walking down the same isle and smashed her cart in the back of a girl that was apparently where she wanted to be. I started to feel my blood boil as I watched her do it, yet again, but this time to this sweet looking old guy. I couldn't believe it! What an ornery, miserably unhappy lady this was! Brad jokingly commented that I should go do something about it. Those that know me know I would never do what I was about to. Maybe an evil spirit inhabited my body, but before I had time to think, I marched over to her, lowered my shoulder, and checked her like a hockey player into the display case. I couldn't stand to watch her bully anyone else just because they were" in her way." Brad nearly fell on the ground from shock! As I walked back to him I realized that didn't make me feel better at all. All of a sudden we saw her coming for us. We're talking, full on running, cart in hand, coming for us. We were at the base of some stairs going up to the second level so I hopped up onto them while Brad grabbed the cart before it could run him over. Then that was it. She didn't say a thing. When she turned around we got the heck out of there before she could make a lap and try again. It makes me laugh now when I think about it, but I honestly learned a valuable lesson that day. Revenge truly doesn't make you feel better. In fact I felt so guilty we went back the next day trying to find her so I could apologize. Story #2 Brad has a tendency to start planning our vacation for the next year the day after we get back from a vacation. Therefore we usually book it well in advance so that we'll have it paid for by the time we leave. So Brad booked our flight to Florida and printed out the itinerary probably 7 months or so before we left. The morning of our trip we're running a bit late, but not bad. We're in the airport getting our boarding passes and realize they had changed the time for our flight sometime between 7 months ago and now and we hadn't bothered to confirm the time. We were going on a cruise which wouldn't have waited for us had we been flying in that morning, but luckily we were coming a day early anyway so it wasn't such a big deal. We had a good laugh, drove to a bowling alley, and played a few games while we waited for the next flight out. The morale of this story is always, always; check the times to your flight the day of to see if you have the correct times. I'll make sure story time is illustrated next time! :)

Tagged #2

What were you doing 10 years ago? Well to be exact....I would have scraped my windshield as little as possible before I got into "The Grandma Car" and raced to school because I would have been late. Inbetween 1st and 2nd period I would have bought an enormously huge cinnamon roll for a bargain $.75. For lunch I would go to Foodtown and buy a bagel, yogurt (Strawberry), and an apple or Banana and eat it in the hallway. Then after school I, of course, went to listen to Wet Cement practice as I drank a Hawaiian Punch. Then I would have raced to work at The Yarrow Hotel and did my homework as I waiting for calls to come in...to be exact.... 5 things on my to do list today: 1. Get in as much work time as little Brynner will allow. I'm hoping for 4 hours. 2. Do the laundry 3. Post a blog 4. Make batter for waffles in the morning...our Sunday tradition. 5. Get as much sleep as little Brynner will allow. I'm hoping for 4 hours! :) Things I would do if I suddenly became a billionaire: Man, that's a lot of tithing! :) There is all the standard stuff I would do...buy everyone in my family a house and a car, the best schools for Brynner, pay off any bills we might have, go traveling every few months, give x amount to charities each year, invest the majority of it, and give x amount to the research of admirable endeavors. Oh and another practical thing, I would have a personal masseuse so I could end my day with an hour long massage. But honestly there are more interesting things to read about so let's get right into those. Just to name a few... We would own a house in every time zone. Buy an island in the India Ocean on the Seychelles island chain. Dedicate a couple of years of training in various arts to break as many world records as we could. Brad would want to hire a tattoo artist to replicate the Sistine Chapel on the roof of his mouth (now I want you all to hold him to this!). He also really wants to give Oprah a loan and hold it over her head. Between that and using his money to corrupt the British Parliament so he could buy a seat in the House of Commons-he'd pretty much own the world. I think the only bribing I might do, on the other hand, would get dirt on the IOC so they would give into my idea of extreme picnicing as a sport for the next Olympics. It has bags of potential! My other slight indulgence would be to replicate the machine on The Jetson's so I could get ready every morning in about 2 min. and look perfect everytime. Man that would be sweet! Oh and one more thing...I would have a Jamba Juice in my house. Not asking too much, right!? :) 2 of my bad habits are: Procrastination and eating dinner in front of the television. Everytime I try and make Brad eat with me at the table he just starts to laugh when I ask about his day because he thinks of an episode of Seinfeld when Kramer had the "How was your day today?" speech. 5 places I have lived: 1. Woodland, UT 2. Orem, UT 3. Stansbury Park, UT 4. South Jordan, UT 5. Oakley, UT Jobs I have had: I starting to work at 14 and am proud to say I've only had 8 jobs in my life: Dick's Drive Inn, Levi Outlet, Yarrow Hotel, Daily Herald, Galaxy Diner, Baja Cantina, Sports Imaging Photography, and Mountain Land Design. 5 things people don't know about me: 1. Back in my crazy kid days I would completely change my outfit...shoes, socks, pants, shirt, everything...all while driving. I would do this all the time, I guess it was a combination of always being late and always anxious to get where I was going. My Dad taught me, by example, to drive with my knee so I picked up on it and learned I could do lots of things while driving like that. Bad. Bad. 2. I prefer Waffles to Pancakes if they're made at home...but Pancakes to Waffles when I'm at a restaurant. Did I just blow your mind?! 3. I've never felt as free as the night I went skinny dipping with a few friends in St. George. We were so worried about the other people looking at us, we ran by each other holding hands so no one would see from behind! Ha! ha! That's a funny memory. Don't worry girls..I won't rat you out! :) 4. I prefer to eat applesauce with cinnamon on it and cottage cheese with season salt on it. 5. My Sister, Step Sister, and I, once toilet papered our own house! If I remember correctly we wanted to get back at our parents for not letting us go get someone else that night. Of course it ended up back firing because we were the ones that cleaned it up! I now tag: Kensey, Cheri, Drew, & Em

Mighty Fine Catch

I've been focusing so much on our new little guy that I thought I'd write about the first little man in my life, Brad. I don't think I tell him enough what a mighty fine catch he is and how lucky I am that he's mine. It's amazing how the room lights up and becomes more exciting when he's around. He really has taught me to laugh! I've never known anyone to watch a movie or a TV show and do big belly laughs by themselves in a room. He does it everyday and I love that about him! A special treat is to watch America's Funniest Videos with him or be around him with his brother, Drew, when they start telling stories of their childhood. I'm also told their fishing trips are a riot, but I'll take their word for it. I can't really see the appeal of waking up at 4:00 am but maybe I'll get into-you never know! Most of the pictures I have of Brad, he's fishing. Here are a few of my favorites...

Brad is also so thoughtful. For my birthday this year he sent me flowers, made an appointment with a Spa that day for a massage, pedicure, and manicure; and had his Mom come over and watch Brynner. It was such a great surprise! I needed it so much! When I came home from the spa he had a special dinner waiting that he learned to make when he was on his mission in France. I can never remember the name of it, but it was heavenly...even with our screaming baby in the background :)

One last thing I wanted to tell him I loved is what a great Papa he is. I love watching them together. He's so helpful in the evenings when I need a break and Brynner gets so excited to see him. We are both so lucky to have you in our lives. I love you so much honey!
